Of the 64MW capacity, 50MW will be sold to the national grid, according to a report by 'The Star' (Kenya). Kenya: Cemtech gains cement plant licences30 January 2013, Published under Cement NewsThe government has granted all required licences for the construction of the KES12bn (US$136.9m) Pokot Cement Factory. Rajesh Rawal, Cemtech Sanghi's Group director, said it has taken more than two years for the company to be granted the licenses. He said the company is now ready to begin the project which is scheduled to be completed by end of 2014 or early 2015. Pokot Factory scheduled for completion at end-2013, Kenya10 April 2012, Published under Cement NewsA new 1.2Mta cement factory being constructed in the Pokot region of Kenya, will be completed within the next 15 months, Rajesh Kumar Rawal, director of the Cemtech Sanghi Group who is building the factory. Mr Rawal said the planning stages have been completed and the new plant is scheduled to be opened by the end of 2013.
